Y3Bar Livestock is owned and operated by Lynn Stewart.  We are based out of Sherwood Park, Alberta and Camrose, Alberta.   

As a small breeder, I truly enjoy the luxury of providing individual attention to each and every animal.  I have selected for moderate framed, hardworking cows with strong maternal traits.  I believe that you can successfully breed for lower-birth weight calves, without sacrificing weaning weights and growth performance.  I have bred my cows to top sires, and will be continuing to enhance our genetics in 2009.  I started showing my cattle in 2008 with my home-bred heifer Red Y3Bar Umistakable 219U.  I am fortunate enough to work in conjunction with other Angus breeders, including Diamond H Farms of Thorsby, Alberta. 

My farm name, Y3Bar Livestock has been a part of my family’s heritage.  The Y3Bar brand has been in the Stewart family since my great-grandfather registered it in 1904.  I am fortunate to be the 4th generation to carry on the Stewart name in agriculture. 

I am currently employed as a nutrition specialist in the commercial feed industry, specializing in beef and dairy cattle.  After obtaining my BSc in Agriculture from the University of Alberta, I recently started my Masters degree from the Royal Veterinary College at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.  I am also on the board of directors for Future Alberta Business Builders (FABB) and the Northern Alberta Angus Club.
